What are the risks of not taking any IBD medicines?
It’s also important to know that there are risks if your IBD is not properly treated. Untreated IBD may lead to continued symptoms such as diarrhea, blood in the stool, belly pain, and joint pains. It could also lead to irreversible bowel wall damage, hospitalization, surgery, or even death.
